Superiority in STRI ratings

"Bar Superb" demonstrates superiority in low mowing, as confirmed by research conducted by STRI (Sports Turf Research Institute). The research also showed that "Bar Superb" is visually appealing and highly resistant to diseases such as red thread. In addition, this mixture forms an excellent dense turf and remains wonderfully green in winter.

Resistance to low mowing

"Bar Superb" consists of 20% creeping bentgrass, 50% strong creeping red fescue, and 30% slender creeping red fescue. This combination allows the grass to be cut very low – down to about 4–5 mm. The combination works so effectively because it consists of varieties that performed best in STRI tests. Therefore, "Bar Superb" is particularly suitable for use on greens.

Dense turf

One of the requirements for any putting green is a very dense turf. Balls roll better on a dense surface. In the case of "Bar Superb," this density is ensured by creeping bentgrass, which forms rhizomes, creating a dense network of grass plants and guaranteeing high ball speed.

Greens with high ball speed

To ensure high ball speed, greens must be cut very short. Ball speed can be easily and accurately measured using a "Stimpmetras." Three balls are rolled from the device, and their average travel distance is calculated. The STRI diagram clearly shows that the combination of creeping bentgrass and two types of red fescue ensures higher ball speed.

Intensive use in summer and winter and year-round greenery

Due to the combination of bentgrass and red fescue, "Bar Superb" tolerates high intensity of use. Many other grasses only demonstrate such resistance in summer, but "Bar Superb" withstands heavy loads even in winter. Another important aspect is aesthetic quality. "Bar Superb" maintains its green color throughout all four seasons. The visual quality and winter greenery of "Bar Superb" are superior to individual grass species included in its composition.

Excellent disease resistance

Red thread is a fungal disease that often affects red fescue. It can be identified by thin red threads on the tips of the leaves, which cause the leaves to die. "Bar Superb" contains varieties that have been specially developed and selected for their disease resistance. Therefore, this mixture is resistant to various diseases. The bentgrass in "Bar Superb" also shows good disease resistance.

Suitable for tees

"Bar Superb" is suitable for putting greens, but it is also ideal for tees, as it has all the necessary properties for them.
