Fastest Establishment

The fastest possible establishment is achieved with the latest generation of annual ryegrass – SOS®! This feature has made SOS® a well-known and popular grass mixture over the past few years. The ability to renovate sports fields during the cold season is crucial for the fields to be playable again as quickly as possible. Sowing with SOS® guarantees at least 60% coverage in one month. This is up to 18 days faster than can be achieved with standard perennial ryegrass mixtures.

Sowing at low temperatures

Most grass mixtures cannot be sown at low temperatures. In contrast, SOS® can be used when the soil temperature is as low as +4 °C. Used at the right time in late winter, SOS® will ensure a high-quality lawn.

Longer playing season

This is not a given; conventional grass mixtures do not germinate at low soil temperatures. However, SOS® can extend the playing season by several months. A field sown in early spring will maintain good grass cover. Pitches can then be used more intensively than before. SOS® can extend the playing season by up to one hundred hours per year.

SOS® versus Annual Bluegrass

When light green patches appear on the sports field, it's clear to everyone: annual bluegrass! If annual bluegrass is allowed to grow, it will dominate the entire field within three years. Newly established sports fields, in particular, are a target for annual bluegrass. SOS® is an excellent product, especially during the winter months, as it germinates at temperatures as low as 4 °C. This occurs earlier than annual bluegrass, which germinates at approximately 8 °C. Therefore, SOS® presents another serious challenge to annual bluegrass.
